Ashbourne Independent Sixth Form College
Our supportive, examination-oriented approach has
been consistently successful. 61% of examination results
for A level re-sit candidates between June 1998 and June
2005 were at A or B grades, with 82% of A level candidates gaining
A, B or C grades
A specialist programme is offered for
entry to the Medical Sciences. This highly successful programme
is overseen by Professor John Foreman, FRCP, Dean of Students
and Professor of Pharmacology at University College , London
, and includes among its advisers Dr Douglas Miller, BDS,
LDS, RCS (Eng), a practising Dental Surgeon. 51% of Ashbourne
candidates have won places at medical school over the last 8 years.
Ashbourne also has an outstanding reputation
for the teaching of Art and Design. Under the guidance of
our tutors, whose passion and enthusiasm for the subject
is infectious, our students have routinely achieved top
grades at A level and have won prizes in art and sculpture
competitions, exhibiting their work in Leighton House and
in Holland Park.
